Report: State-regulation suspension unnecessary, unsafe

April 21, 2014

Gov. Jan Brewer’s blanket suspension of new government regulations was unnecessary and prevented state agencies from adequately protecting the public, according to a policy report released today by the Grand Canyon Institute, a non-partisan Arizona think tank.

The report analyzed regulations set by Brewer’s two immediate predecessors, and the executive order Brewer signed after taking office in 2010 to set a “moratorium” on new state regulations.
